Level 3 Award in First-line Management

Our Level 3 Award in First-line Management provides an introduction to the skills, roles and responsibilities of managers working at this level. It enables learners to develop their knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a first-line manager by focusing on specific management skills.

This first-line manager qualification consists of just one unit and the completion of one work-based assignment and can be completed in as little as 3 weeks.

Level 3 Certificate in First-line Management

A more extensive qualification, our Level 3 Certificate in First-line Management provides learners with a broader knowledge of effective management skills while focusing on the specific line management areas appropriate to them and their workplace.

This first-line manager qualification consists of 2-3 units and the completion of 2-3 work-based assignments. This short qualification is usually completed in 4-6 months.

Level 3 Diploma in First-line Management

With a more comprehensive structure, the Level 3 Diploma in First-line Management gives learners all the key skills and competencies they'll need to become an effective first-line manager.
This first line manager qualification consists of 6-7 units and the completion of 6-7 work-based assignments. This comprehensive qualification is usually completed in 8-12 months.

  • To achieve a CMI Level 3 Award in First-line Management, learners need to complete any one unit
  • To achieve a CMI Level 3 Certificate in First-line Management, learners need to complete 2-3 units to a minimum total of 13 credits
  • To achieve a CMI Level 3 Diploma in First-line Management, learners need to complete 6-7 units (rules of combination apply, some Level 4 units can also be selected – please contact us for details)
